IMPACT FILTER DEVELOPMENTS

Specific development of a dynamic varnish trapping system.

Surf-Métal develops innovative solutions to optimize the performance of your coating lines while significantly reducing operating costs.

Among these developments is our impact filter system, an innovation designed to capture varnish overspray before it passes through traditional filter media. This system treats air laden with varnish particles—particularly for so-called “high-gloss” UV applications—by significantly reducing the saturation of conventional filters.

The system is based on a cascading baffle system, strategically positioned in the extraction airflow :

  • Airborne varnish droplets, sprayed against the baffles, are trapped within them and then collected in recovery tanks to facilitate their evacuation and reprocessing.
  • The air exits with very few particles, reducing the upstream load on traditional filters.

This process acts as active pre-filtration, blocking up to 50% of varnishes before they reach the final filters.

  • Up to 50% of varnishes trapped upstream: less deposits and clogging in the final filters.
